PEARL RIVER, N.Y. – John P. Daly, of Pearl River, died Wednesday, June 29 at the Joe Raso Hospice Residence in New City. He was 87.
Daly was born June 27, 1929 in the South Bronx to John and Marie (nee Ahern) Daly, serving in the U.S. Army from 1951-53 and working as an NYPD officer until retiring in 1991.
He was predeceased by his parents and wife Julia (nee Cunningham).
Daly is survived by his three sons, Shawn and his wife Diane, Peter, and Matthew and his wife Tina; four grandchildren; two sisters, Helen Niminski and her husband Eugene, and Marie Killeen and her husband Michael; and many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours are from 7-9 tonight at Wyman-Fisher Funeral Home.
A Mass of Christian burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Catharine’s R.C. Church in Blauvelt.
Interment will follow at Frederick Loescher Veterans Cemetery in New Hempstead.
